Russian Prime Minister Highlights Potential for Increased Cooperation with Myanmar

Russia and Myanmar are actively developing trade and economic cooperation despite facing sanctions, according to Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. He made these remarks during a meeting with the leader of Myanmar's State Administration Council (SAC), Min Aung Hlaing.
Mishustin noted the growth in bilateral trade and emphasized the potential for increased cooperation in sectors such as energy (including nuclear energy), transportation infrastructure, and agriculture.
He also mentioned that both sides are considering joint projects in communication and information technology, the food industry, and the extraction and processing of mineral resources.
Welcoming the SAC leader to the Russian government's lower house in Moscow, Mishustin described Myanmar as an important partner for Russia in the Asia-Pacific region.
He expressed confidence that the SAC leader's visit would provide impetus for the development of bilateral cooperation across all areas. Mishustin also assured that the Russian government would strictly fulfill any agreements reached following negotiations with the Russian President.
