This is what Antarctica looks like at midnight!
The 24 hour sun in Antarctica is here and the sun will not set at Scott Base or McMurdo Station until February. It just circles around the sky. This is called a circumpolar rotation, which basically means that in summer, the sun doesn’t set.
The best thing about this is that we can do all kinds of outdoor activities whenever we want. The downside is that if we’re trying to sleep and need to get up for whatever reason (usually a toilet break) then the sun tricks our body into thinking it’s daytime and completely wakes us u
