September fair price for Shwebo Pawsan rice set at K150,000 per bag

The fair reference rice prices for September for 108 pounds/24 Pyi Shwe Bo Pawsan first grade is set at K150,000 per bag, according to the rice reference prices released by the Consumer Affairs Department, the Ministry of Commerce.
According to the fair rice reference prices statement for September for 108 pounds/24 Pyi bags, the groups of coarse export rice (Aemahta/ Ngasein) including Sinthukha costs K71,000 per bag of 25 per cent; K78,000 for a 50-kilogramme bag of 25 per cent export rice; K73,000 per bag of 15 per cent; K80,000 per 50-kilogramme bag of 15 per cent export rice; K75,000 per bag of 10-5 per cent rice; and K83,000 per 50-kilogramme bag of 10-5 per cent export rice.
A bag of 10-5 grade rice, which is exported and consumed locally, including Shwethwe, Anyatha and Pakhan, is set at K98,000 per bag, those produced from Ayeyawady, Bago and Yangon regions at K103,000.
Rice varieties from upper Myanmar, such as Mandalay, Sagaing and Magway, are set at K133,000 and K125,000 per bag for the first class, K120,000 per bag for the second class, and others at K110,000, K135,000, K150,000 and K145,000 depending on the brand.
Varieties that are not mass-produced need to be sold at not more than eight per cent above the reference rates.
In addition, other specifications include K 3800 per kilogram of Shwebo Pawsan as a fair market price for sales with consumer packaging in shopping centers (Supermarket, Mini Mart, Grocery), K3,300 per kilogram of Ayeyawady Pawsan, K2,500 per kilogram for Zeeya, Manawthukha and K3,500 per kilogram for Ayeyapadetha. It will be applicable as a kilograms-based price to all brands in these shops, including jasmine, organic rice and rice berry (black/brown). — MT/ZN/ED
